Pennsylvania PA Strike Team Events

PA  Strike Team State Training:  April 23-24, 2010

Members of the PA region 4 EMS strike team met at Blueberry Hill Park in Franklin PA for a two day drill.  The drill named Seismic Phoenix was set up as a massive earthquake scenario.  Team personnel set up a field hospital system.  Members of the PA EMS strike team worked with members of the SMRT team as well as hospital personnel.  Students from Tom Savini's Special Effects Program of the Douglas Education Center in Monessen PA were on hand to give simulated patients trauma related makeup.

 

 


PA  Strike Team State Training:  May. 18 2008

Members of the PA Region 4 had a training/demonstration of equipment available to Hospital coordinators and EMA's in Cranberry PA.  Members set up CCP Tents and demonstrated the new field hospitals.


PA  Strike Team State Training:  Aug. 11-13 2008

Members of Baldwin EMS along with member of the Region 4 Strike organized a State Strike Team Training evaluation at Fort Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania. Personnel and Equipment through out the stated came together at the Gap to participate in the training.  Training was set up and commanded by members of the Region 4 Strike Team.  Training was set to take place for all the state teams to meet one another and become acquainted with others equipment.  As units from the State Strike Team arrived they were directed to a sign in/staging area were all crews were accounted for and issued a temporary ID for the training.

       
       

ATV Operator Safety Course: Aug 8, 2008

Members of the Region 4 Strike did training in Beaver Co. for ATV Operator Safety through the the ATV Safety Institute.  Members of the team learned how to safely operate ATV's while turning as well as making sharp, performing quick stops, riding over obstacles and properly riding up and down hills.

 


PA Region 4 EMS Strike Team Training: April 5-6, 2008

 Six Baldwin EMS Paramedics, along with Chief Plunkett, traveled to Darlington, Pa for a two-day field training exercise.  Personnel and equipment from throughout the region came together to erect a completely self-sufficient medical encampment.  This blending of personnel and resources illustrated that this team could respond to a disaster stricken area and provide medical services without dependence on local resources.   Many of these resources which have been obtained through Homeland Security Grants are maintained by Baldwin EMS at Station 510 for local and regional deployments.
