TRT  TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM

 

The SHACOG Technical Rescue Team (TRT) is a combined force of emergency personnel available with in the region to respond to emergencies which would need specialized training and equipment.  Members of the team meet once a month for training including rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue and other various types of rescue.

Training - Members of the TRT met at Mowry Park in Pleasant Hills for Monthly Training.


Trench Rescue Call Out - TRT responded to Trench Rescue in Baldwin Boro.  Details


Training - Members of the TRT met for rope rescue training held at Leland Point in Baldwin Borough.  Crews utilized Truck 232 and equipment off of Rescue 510 to practice high angle rope rescue.


Training - Members of the TRT met for rope rescue training held at Mowry Park in Pleasant Hills.  Crews utilized Rescue 510's equipment to practice low angle rope rescue.


Training - On Feb. 26, 2009, Members of the TRT met for training at Baldwin EMS.  Team members rotated between five stations which included patient immobilization devices, cold weather packaging using the Stokes Basket and removing patients from difficult positions.  Crews also reviewed equipment that is present in Pleasant Hills FD Special Operations Truck and Medical Rescue Team South Authority  (MRTSA) Operation Support Unit.


Training - Members of the SHACOG region Technical Rescue Team had training at the old South Park High School.  Team practiced evolutions on high angle rope rescue situations with patients in abnormal areas.  Crews also practiced packaging patients and moving patients in Stokes Baskets.
