TRT CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM

The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) responds to critical police incidents throughout the SHACOG communities.  The CIRT Team trains a minimum of 16 hours per month on a variety of subjects including breaching, firearms, less lethal deployment, hostage situations, officer rescue, and other critical scenarios.

The Tactical Medic Team, or TEMS, is a fully integrated portion of the CIRT Team.  TEMS currently has 6 members made up of members of Baldwin EMS, Medical Rescue Team South Authority, and Valley Ambulance Authority.  TEMS participates in training with the Tactical portion of the CIRT Team on a monthly basis.  TEMS members will complete a week long Medical Operator class in September at the National Tactical Officer Association (NTOA) Conference being held in Pittsburgh.
