Distinguished Service Award
The Baldwin EMS Board of
Directors designed an annual Distinguished Service Award to be given to an
individual, who selected by their peers, would stand to represent the meaning
and purpose of what our organization strives to achieve every day.
The selection criterion applies to not just a year-long evaluation of
work and service but as also as a reflection on a career as an

Award recipient was selected by his peers by meeting the following criteria:
Exemplary patient care
Demonstrates self-improvement efforts through education and training
Professionalism by personal conduct, attitude toward patients and others
Personal appearance, initiative, honesty, integrity, resourcefulness
Conduct and performance for others to emulate
Standing tall among others

PARAMEDIC MARTY MAYER 2002 RECIPIENT |

This year’s 2002 Distinguished Service Award was presented to Paramedic Marty Mayer at the November Baldwin and Pleasant Hills Borough Council Meetings. Joining Marty this evening were his wife, son and several of his EMS colleagues. Marty began his career over 20 years ago as an EMT then Paramedic and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant who is responsible for supervising C-line personnel. He has advanced his training in many areas that include, medical and rescue certifications. Marty is admired by his peers for his skilled clinical care, consistent leadership and overall work ethic. He is looked upon as a teacher to assist in the development of new employees and valued for his input and suggestions to keep Baldwin EMS out in front in the changing world of EMS care and delivery.
