(Wellness Before Emergencies Care Program)
The mission of the this program is to educate the community on current health issues and early detection techniques to help prevent illness and disease before they occur or help you to better manage existing medical conditions.
This program is an expansion of our former monthly blood pressure screening clinics. By partnering with area hospitals, we have scheduled a wide variety of health topics such as diabetes awareness, bone density screenings, heart healthy nutrition, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma eye screening, etc. In addition to the health topic of the month presentation and/or screening, our Paramedics will check your blood pressure, pulse rates and assess the percentage of oxygen circulating in your blood. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on currently monthly topic.
The programs are free to all residents of the Borough. Each program is generally only two (2) hours in length each month and is held at our station located behind the Eat-N-Park restaurant located off of Route 51. Registration is required as space is limited. Please feel free to share this information with your family, friends, clubs and organizations. If you have any questions, please contact Asst. Chief Curt Neill at (412) 884-0666.
