EMS working with Schools

North Zion Lutheran Church School Visit  EMS representatives visited the school to interact with the children and teach them about the EMS.  Lieutenant Plunkett and his K9 partner were present with Paramedic Toki.  The children were shown what the back of ambulance looks like and the equipment used by paramedics.   Children were also introduced to K9 Bandaid and taught animal safety with dogs.

Safety Day at McAnulty Elementary School  A safety presentation was conducted for over 450 students and their teachers.  The emphasis of bicycle helmets was made and a simulated bicycle accident was staged to show the students what EMS would do to treat a child who was injured.  A Life Flight helicopter was part of the safety program as well.  All of the students were given an opportunity to see the helicopter and walk through an ambulance.  The students were given Junior Paramedic sticker badges and a brochure to take home that explains Emergency Medical Services.

"Camp McAnulty" EMS was contacted by the McAnulty Elementary School Principal regarding “Camp McAnulty” that was scheduled to occur outdoors in the school playground area.  A memorandum co-authored by the school and EMS was sent home with the students informing the parents to prepare their children for this outdoor event.  The weather forecast predicted very hot and humid conditions.  Therefore, EMS provided Portable Shelters, Misting Fans and a Porta-Cool Trailer.  During the three (3) hour scheduled outdoor event that consisted of various obstacle courses and foot races, students and faculty would periodically visit the EMS rehab area to cool off and rehydrate
